SS Ribston was a British Cargo Steamer of
3,372 tons built in 1894 by W. Gray & Co., Ltd., West Hartlepool and owned
by Zodiac Shipping Co., Ltd. (Moller & Co.), London. On the 16th July 1917
when on route from Melilla to the Clyde with a cargo of iron ore she was
torpedoed by German submarine U-45 and sunk when 85 miles W from the Fastnet
